The Late YB Datuk Robert Lau Hu Chew passed away today (9th April 2010) aged 68 years at his KL Residence at about 11.18 am (from the national news). Sadly missed but fondly remembered as the top campaigner for Clean Toilets in Malaysia. He was given a nickname as the "Malaysian Toilet King" by our beloved PM Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak for his involvement & contributions towards the Clean Toilets Campaign in Malaysia. He was the founder chairperson of Quality Restroom Association Malaysia (QRAM) and held the post for 3 terms.

We, the "Siburien" do really miss him very much as he was our MP and especially all the staff of Sibu Municipal Council, Sibu, Sarawak as he was the Mayor for a few years before moving to KL for the ministerial post. New toilets were built and old toilets were upgraded especially during his tenure as the deputy Federal Minister for Housing & Local Government, KL and not forgetting the 1st Malaysian Model Toilet for School was built in SIBU.
Farewell, the beloved late YB Datuk Robert Lau Hui Chew and keeping fingers crossed that there will be someone like you who will continue your legacy and Quest for Clean toilets in Malaysia.
Hope that the Toilets' stories does not end here when you are not around !
Our heartfelt Condolences to his family on their recent bereavement.
