1st Malaysian Model Toilets for School.

















Sibu Toilet Council (STC) with the funding from Department of Standard Malaysia (DSM), a Federal ministry department come up with the plan of an environmentally friendly School Toilet with "Rain harvesting" to be use for the flushing & washing of the toilets. These toilets were the first toilets designed in accordance to the Standards for Malaysian School Toilets. Private Companies like Sime Inax and DOE also contribute the hard wares i.e sanitary wares, flooring tiles etc., for the construction of these toilets.

The reason for choosing this school because it's the government school , one of the toilet block was found to be in a dilapidated condition and had the space for a block of new toilet building.

This school was built in the year 1963 and having a total areas of 1.141 hectares. No. of Student is 1098 with 2 sessions (Morning and Afternoon) with teaching staff of 67 and 7 non teaching staff. This School also cater for the " Kelas Khas Bermasalah Pembelajaran" (KKBP).

The construction of the 1st Malaysian Model School Toilets first started on 12 June 2007 and completed less than 2 months' time and was ready for the launching by the Director of Department of Standard Malaysia (DSM) during the National Toilet & Exposition & Forum (NATEF) 2007 in Sibu organised by Sibu Municipal Council & STC.
