World Toilet Summit & Expo 2009 at SUNTEC Singapore.

This is the ninth year of the World Toilet Summit & Expo 2009 after its first started in Singapore in the Year 2001 and had been an annual event held in major cities around the Globe. This Year theme is " Creating the Blueprint for a sustainable Sanitation Marketplace", the conference sessions and panel discussions also include the reviews of best practices, standards and polices, new technologies , and financing sanitation solutions.

The event venue is at SUNTEC Singapore and Exhibition Hall was at the Level 6, Conference at Ballroom 1 (Level 2) and Level 3. It's was a 3 day event and really disappointing for not able to attend all the sessions as the Day 2 session was at 2 venues with different papers & discussions. All the papers presented by the speakers can be downloaded from the WTO websites as according to Mr. Jack Sim (WTO Founder)

The Exhibition was at Level 6 of SUNTEC Singapore and restricted to trade visitors . A total of about 50 over exhibitors. Most of these exhibitors were from the cleaning machinery agents & factories, cleaning agents and toiletries & sanitary ware agents. Quality Restroom Association Malaysia (QRAM) and its member was there too. Our STC Chairperson , Cr. Robert Lau Hui Yew was there too.

The Size of the Box (Shit Box) was similiar to our local 3.5 kg Crackers's tin container and some of the visitors said that we can use that instead and it's more heavyduty. How's that??

Closing Ceremony of the World Toilet Summit & Expo 2009 is on 4th December 2009 (Day 3) and grand finale of this closing is the WTO Hall of Fame awards , this award was for those involved individuals involved in the campaign or championing for the Clean toilets & education in his or her own country. This Year2009, the awards goes to Our very Own Federal Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia, YB Datuk Robert Lau Hoi Chew (Ex QRAM Chairperson and former federal Deputy Minister of Housing & Local Government Malaysia.) , Ms Tan Puay Hoon , President Restroom Association of Singapore and another recipient was from overseas (cant recall her name).

Our Heartiest congratulations to YB Datuk Robert Lau Hoi Chew for the Award from Sibu Toilet Council Chairperson & Members. Checking from the WTO website, WTO Wall Of Fame Column cant get the latest update last month or else, you could pick up some information on the latest WTO Wall Of Fame recipients.

It was quite an interesting and knowledge gaining trip.
