Launching of Grading Signs for Food Eateries in Sibu.

Sibu Toilet Council together with the Sibu municpal council's food & quality control unit and the Associations from the food eateries jointly launched the Standard Gradings Signs for the food eateries in Sibu. These gradings is the Standardised Gradings System or the color codings used through out the State by the local councils.

Assist in design of Public & School Toilets.

Sibu Toilet Council (STC) also involved in the design of the environmental friendly public toilets in Sibu Municipal Council jurisdictions as well as the primary schools' toilets. Public Toilets involved are the Public Toilets at Sibu Gateway, Sibu Town Square phase II and at the SEDC Food Court. Redesign of public toilets at the Sibu Central Market was also one of the involvement of the Sibu Toilet Council.

Happy Toilet School Education.


One of the speaker from Sibu Toilet Council doing the talk on Happy Toilet School Education Program. This Happy Toilet School Educcation Program is all about the cleaning and maintenance of school toilets which was present in very simple & interesting ways . It also include a rap song on Toilet.







The Happy Toilet School Education talks were conducted at most primary School in Sibu.





































































































Joint Sibu Development Exhibition

Sibu Toilet Council also participated in the Joint Sibu Development Exhibitions with the Government Departments, Private companies etc., Sibu Toilet Council was given 2 booths for the Exhibition. The Exhibition was held at the Sibu Exhibition & Development Centre.

Workshop / Toilets cleaning Course jointly organised by STC/Ngos.

This is the first Workshop cum toilets cleaning course organised by Sibu Toilet Council & Sibu Municipal Council and the Non- Governmental Organization. Mr. Jack Sim (World Toilet Council President, Singapore ) was one of the Speakers at this workshop. Participants were from local Council staff from Sibu Region, JCI and from the Schools , also from the food Eateries.

Mass Toilets Cleaning Campaign by STC , Sibu Municipal Councillors & NGOs

The Mayor of Sibu Municipal Council, Dato' Cr.Tiong Thai King took the lead in the Mass Toilets Cleaning Campaign and he was with his fellow councillors cleaning one of the municipal public toilets. Besides, cleaning the public toilets, this mass toilets cleaning also covered all the food eateries in Sibu.This campaign was jointly organized by the food eateries association, JCI(Junior Chamber International) and the Ngos. This day is the World Toilet Day- 19th November 2005

First Project of Sibu Toilet Council- Star rated Toilets.


The " Star- rating " of the eateries' toilet was the first project carried out by the Sibu Toilet Council with the participation from the Tea & Coffee Association, Junior Chamber International (JCI) and the Sarawak Tourism Board . The best eateries were awarded with " Stars" plaques which had to be displayed at the entrance to the starred Toilets. The selected eateries were inspected for a few times before this awards were given. What's the prizes of this ratings? Well, it's ...getting recognized for having a "3 " Stars Toilet. Two Eateries were award for a 3 star Toilets. Refreshment House sdn. bhd ( a vegetarian Restaurant) and A-plus Restaurant & coffee shop were the only ones. This project on held on 9th November 2005 . A few days before the formation of the Sibu Toilet Council.



Sibu Toilet Council Committee 2005-2008

This is the pioneer group of the first Sibu Toilet Council (STC) committee which consists of the Senior Management ( Mr. Wong Fu Toh Seated on the right side of Cr. Robert Lau Hui Yew and Mr. Hii Chang Kee on the left side) . Those standing behind are the support group from the Secretariats and NGOs.

Cr. Robert Lau Hui Yew (a Lawyer by profession) is the Sibu Toilet Council Chairperson since the formation of this Council (STC) and he is also the Deputy Chairperson in Public Health & Municipal Services Standing Committee of the SIBU MUNICIPAL COUNCIL (SMC).

With effect from 1st January 2009, he is the Works & Traffic Standing committee chairperson of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) and remains as the Sibu Toilet Council Chairperson.

Sibu Toilet Council

Sibu Toilet Council (STC) also known as "Majlis Tandas Sibu" was officially formed on Monday, 12th September 2005. This council (STC) is the adhoc committee to the Standing Committee of the Public Health & Municipal Services Committee of the Sibu Municipal Council, Sibu.

Organization

Sibu Toilet Council (STC) is an informal and Simple Organization consisting of one Chairperson (also as the co-ordinator) supported by the Secretariats (group of officers from the Management & the Council Staff) and the Non-governmental Organisation (Local Associations from the Tea & Coffee Shop & Hawker Association/Youth Organizations & Clubs/Cleaning Contractors/Experts).

To lead the Nation in Washroom Hygiene.

Promoting a healthier Sibu by advocating the Standard and Hygiene of Sibu's Toilets

Objectives


  1. To raise awareness on the issues related to the ABC (Architecture, Behaviors and Cleanliness Maintenance ) of toilets.

  2. To educate the Sibu populance on the proper toilet etiquettes with the focus on the School Students.

  3. To assist the toilet operators/owners on the toilet maintenance.
